Darling flounders as Humphrys goes for the jugular

Interview still going on now - check Radio 4's listen again in an hour or so if you're missing it. Humphrys is doing a sterling job, and Darling is lost for words. Hearing this whey-faced Onanist having his arse soundly kicked has raised my mood. But not by very much.

I rarely disagree with you but after downloading the podcast and listening to it, I feel that it was an appalling interview with Alistair Darling standing up well to a disgraceful interview technique. He was hardly allowed to answer one question before being interrupted with the next one.

Why Humphrys did not just concentrate on the 10 year escalating debt question, I don't know, but he seemed to want to score many other points in machine gun fashion.

I have no time for this government or its deceptive policies, but Darling did his best to defend the indefensible. The interview is worth listening to just to hear Humphrys at his very worst IMO.

It just reminded me why I don't listen to this programme any more.
