Harriet Harman blames men and testosterone for the global banking crisis. Before Gordon comes back from the lakes, I expect she will have blamed men for war, swine flu, road deaths, binge drinking, drug addiction, overpopulation, desertification, the fatality rate in the construction industry, global poverty, the depletion of the ozone layer, HIV and overcrowded trains. Harriet is at war with testosterone.
Whilst misogyny is rightly condemned in society as a stance no one would defend, not so misandry. So rather than greeting Harman's lunatic ravings as misandric bigotry, many will nod and smile and see nothing wrong in her demonisation of men. Well, I won't. Harman's misandry is as pernicious and as unacceptable as the worst northern wife-beater's.
If she's incapable of working constructively with half the world's population, she has no place in government.

Is Harriet OK?
Now if I went around at work, claiming that women were to blame for everything, then quite rightly, I would be suspected of a loose hinge or two.
She has two options - stop bitching or have a sex-change op!
Not to be misandric, but...
war is generally orchestrated by men, is it not?
I can think of several men responsible for HH , let's just look forward to the day when she is no more. God forbid she becomes the Shirley Williams of the future.
I'd have to opt for greed and stupidity over testosterone!
Cheers!

Most folk just want honesty, competence and accountability - words which actually don't easily get stuck with a gender tag in any language.
The old one about folk might suspect you're a fool keeping quiet - Harriet's just proving she's a hopeless fool braying from the rooftops.
I wonder If Harriet Hatemen is aware that the Credit Default Swap, the instrument that brought the banking sector to the brink of collapse, was invented by a woman.
Step forward Blythe Masters, CFO, JP Morgan Investment Bank!

The Dahomey Amazons would take issue with that characterisation. Queen Ranavalona would also. As would Maria Theresa, Catherine the Great, Elizabeth I, Queen Mary, Queen Anne, Mary Queen of Scots, Christina of Sweden, the entire Scythian nation (whose maidens had to claim an enemy head in battle before they could get wed), Margaret Thatcher, Joan of Arc, Caterina Sforza, Empress Eugenie, the Israeli Defense Force, the Picts....
Aw, hell. I give up. War, though unpleasant, has been an intrinsic part of human society since we climbed out of the trees and started walking upright. All societies have conducted war - including female-led societies and matriarchal societies (of which there have been more than you know). If there is an ounce of power or advantage to be gained from war, humans will fight - and that includes those humans unfortunate enough to have been born sans meat and two veg.
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
