Guy Fawkes Day

It is quite right of course that the nation today commemorates Guy Fawkes, who today stands alongside Robin Hood as an iconic national hero who did his bit to free Britain of tyranny. As an effigy of the Speaker of the House of Commons is burned on countless bonfires across the land, and Squeaker Bercow, like Gorbals Mick before him, disappears in a shower of flames and sparks, the British people make their annual reminder to the political class to beware.

Well said. And alongside your good self Raedwald, we must also thank that other excellent blogger, the modern day Guido Fawkes.

What a brilliant sense of both history and sarcasm.

Notwithstanding the brilliance of V, the trouble is that (unless you can perhaps link to the interfering and failing EU, or maybe just to the nanny state being against individual access to fireworks), both somehow miss something important.

Best regards

Nice one Raeders.

These prats need a damn good seeing to, although Sally 'the man', will bash squeaker's head to oblivion with her awful shrieking eventually.

Gorbals was an utter disgrace, and he's being paid for it of course, that's the way it works - bastards.

I`ve long thought that its time that Bonfire night was updated, instead of always burning Guy Fawkes we should start burning effigies of modern political figures, change it from a remembrance of an old act to one of modern relevance.I think our 17th Century ancestors would approve
