Housekeeping - new comment format

I've installed Disqus in place of blogger comments to make the comments a more interesting (I hope) place; while Disqus imports all the previous blogger comments, they're showing as zero. Don't worry; I have faith they'll all be back in the right order before very long

Oh no, what a pain. Disqus is the single most infuriating comments barrier around [well, except for the blogger captcha].

I hate Disqus with a passion. It sucks dead bunnies. I cannot comment on "YourFreedomandOurs" because of sodding Disqus, which either posts everything three times or not at all. Helen can't fix that and neither can I. I may not be able to comment here any more. Some might say that's a good thing, but please, in the name of everything, get rid of bloody Disqus.

Ah ..... OK. I'll wait til it's finished installing and then dump it. Sorry all.

Beware, Raedwald. Should you decide to uninstall it, you'll find all kinds of irritating anomalies presenting themselves.

In my case, when I attempted to switch from Blogspot to Wordpress, I found that I could not import my blog content into Wordpress because Disqus had placed bits of code everyhwhere. Even reverting to a previous template backup didn't solve the problem, so somehow, Disqus code had managed to wrap itself around the actual blog content code.

In a previous flirtation with IntenseDebate, I found that on uninstalling it, all the comments which had been posted during its reign were missing.

Unfortunately, as with most 'free' software, the downside is dire support. So if you have a problem with these commenting systems, expect help only from the forum community.
