It could be worse ....

It could be worse. Instead of not being able to cope with several inches of rain, we could instead not be able to cope with several inches of snow. Southern Austria has had a couple of feet so far with another 50cm forecast, disrupting rail services and making tyre-chains compulsory for the high alpine passes. Only the army, who get to play with their tracked snow-vehicles rescuing cows and clearing snow from flat roofs, are really enjoying it.

Came the reply [from Sarge],

"yes lad, there might be children in there!"

And

"Call SCO19!"

Ah. But shoorly all that cold fug would threaten the elf and safety of a nice police person? Better wait while someone skis back to HQ for the right breathing apparatus ...

Mind you, running the heaters in two cars is really going to make all this global warming much worse .... We might get stuck in the ice, like those intrepid Antarctic partygoers.

Ah, the problems we postmodern neanderthals have to face.

I think you'll find that the Met Office would tell you that, as forecast by them 4 days ago, we have had a lot of snow.

Albeit in liquid form...
