A grievous official failure

Tower Hamlets is now back in the hands of democratic control. No thanks to central government or the Metropolitan police, who stood by and did absolutely nothing in 2014 as shameless crook Rahman's thugs intimidated voters at polling stations, stuffed ballot boxes with phantom votes, registered dozens of fake voters to empty letterboxes, threatened and intimidated Moslems and used every venal, corrupt and filthy trick native to Bangladeshi politics to steal the election. Yes, correct; neither the police, nor the Cabinet Office, nor all the officials at the DCLG raised a finger to prevent it, spoke a word to condemn it or did a thing to correct it.

In the end it was four ordinary and courageous electors of the borough of Tower Hamlets who galvanised a court hearing that exposed all bent Rahman's crookedness.

The Met Commissioner, his borough Commander and the permanent secretary at the DCLG should hang their heads in shame at their most grievous official failure.

The Establishment allow blatant electoral fraud to be carried out across the UK in the form of postal voting.

Postal votes should be restricted to those who physically cannot get to a Polling Station due to age, infirmity or absence. Instead anyone can apply and there are no controls in place which ensure that the person completing the form is the person who is supposed to do it.

I don't doubt that in some of our ethnic minority communities, there is basically a block vote as corrupt as the Trade Union block votes were.

The establishment is never interested in uncovering evidence of deficiency in themselves or their systems and activities.
I notice this week that the police are still sniffing around geriatric potential paedos from 30+ years ago but cannot investigate the miner's riots because, despite having occured at the same time, they were too long ago.

DeeDee99, I agree with you regarding postal votes and I'd go further and require id to be presented at the polling station in order to vote. I'm amazed that it's not required.
Another matter that I cannot understand is why ACPO is allowed to exist and why it receives taxpayer money to fund it yet we're not told what they are plotting behind closed doors.

They weren't exactly in a rush to investigate the "benefits" of cultural enrichment in Rotherham either...

There, fixed it for you.

Why hasn't Rahman had his collar felt? According to my barrister son in law, criminal prosecution requires a higher standard of proof than was brought by the Tower Hamlets Fighting Four.
Wonder if the Met are looking for evidence that would provide that higher standard of proof. Just wondering…

Frank - possibly the case, but it doesn't answer why Rahman's thugs were free to block polling station entrances in 2014 or threaten or intimidate those going in to vote without a single police officer being on duty when it was well known? In 2015 - as a result of public pressure and publicity - the Met had plods at all the polling stations to ensure a fair vote, and Rahman's thugs stayed away.

The answer seems to be that in 2014 they didn't want to 'offend' the Bangladeshi community by enforcing the law ...

Not a bad attempt but it needs fixing.........

The answer seems to be that, the British authorities don't want to 'offend' the Muslim community by enforcing the law ...

There, much better.

This sort of thing has a long and not glorious history.

Anybody remember ITV's "Dispatches" in 1997 enumerating a carnival of really very nasty Islamist nuttery around Yorkshire and Lancashire and the feeble and timorous response from plod / gubmint?

Commendably prompt tracking down grumpy Twatterers aren't they though? - kindof makes you wonder what they do all day.

ITV's "Dispatches" in 1997

Aye and I remember a 'Dispatches' effort pertaining to another hotbed of Islamist radicalism, a Mosque in Brum, where the West Midlands Met tried to 'do' the producers of the programme for summat or other and related to "community cohesion" - of course they were laughed out of court and society but ah these guys - Political Correctness/Appeasement trumps all, in the plod.

"Commendably prompt tracking down grumpy Twatterers aren't they though? - kindof makes you wonder what they do all day."

Easy targets, though funny to relate they [Plod] never seem to go after the pedlars of hate - the anti western, anti Britaini brigade of 'polemic' from the religion of piecemeal equivocation........ and to up the crime figures - right up I say.

For the record, Dispatches was/is a Channel 4 programme. Not that this changes any of the points made.

yep - fat lot of notice TPTB took as well - eh?

It's going to dawn on some dimwit jihadi that to get even more attention one goes for the more prominent targets - a suicide bomb in Dewsbury probably wouldn't make it out of the local rag.

Given the non-coverage out of area about most UK large city gun crime - it wouldn't surprise me if there were already long term "no go" areas for plod.

eesh - what a mess ....
