Naked diesel porn

(Sorry, no interesting news today; that Eton boys will put their willies into everything from a marrow to a housemaid is hardly news)

Diesels I have loved include the BMC 1.8 - an engine that even an African can't bollox - and the wonderful 23hp Lister Petter TS2 air cooled lump; not pretty, but with enough torque to pull your granny away from Eastenders. So this morning I have been watching naked diesel porn ... turn the volume up and enjoy!

I don't know the first thing about diesel engines.

But my first car was a Volkswagen Beetle 1600 (vintage 1968 I believe) which I inherited when my father bought his first VW Golf. I absolutely loved that car - tatty thought it was. On 130,000 miles nothing significant had ever gone wrong with it. I loved the sound of the engine, put-putting away in the back: it sounded like it was doing its job and enjoying it!

I am perhaps erroneously of the view that this is not for use in Lewisham Raedwald... Running a diesel engine just for the hell of it in Lewisham would fetch the good burghers down on you like a ton of b.

Does it have a connection to the sea?

your mention of the BMC 1.8 diesel reminds me of the sister 1.8 petrol

when I was first in BAOR (mid 70's) the subalterns tended to drive MGBs: liked by the ladies, and fitted with the old 1.8 that even 2Lt Nice-But-Dim could tinker with

with the added bonus that the ubiquitous Austin 1800 staff cars were similarly powered, so that spares were readily available

the MGC presented more of challenge, the 2.9 gave it a manly bonnet-bulge, but made it so nose-heavy that at the speeds the beast was designed for, it could only drive in a straight line ...

You could need that generator this winter with the low generating reserve now available in the UK. For power generation I believe you can use "red" diesel fuel.
If you watch http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/, you will know when to get it ready!

For real diesel music, try 3 x Isota Fraschini W18.

Not my Genny, I'm afraid! My TS2 was fitted to an ex-admiralty launch and drove a 22" prop, but mod-sales at http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,99,/74725/Harrington.htm gennys big enough to power 2 average houses ....

Paxman 6RPHL. Used to own 5 locomotives fitted with them, now sadly down to one but it is still in use every day earning its crust. Not bad for an engine designed in pre war.
The best diesels came from Colchester, as anybody who has ever been in an HST (and especially the Belted Earl) knows.

buggedy, buggedy, buggedy and all that

Marrows and housemaids? Now that sounds like a sensible idea. Could we have marrows for boys, housemaids for those of maturer years, and could we have them on the rates?

A propos diesel and the future of our power supply, we are installing a capstan in the yard for when diesel gets too dear for us. The old horse will turn it for as long as she can, but when she has gone, the youth will have to take their turn. That should keep them off the housemaid

If ex-HST Paxman's are not available, or the ultimate diesel.
