India doesn't need to ban

Nobody at all should be allowed to cover or disguise their face in a public place - on grounds of security, and basic politeness. Whatever other bits they cover are their own business. But not their face. All the excuses given by the usual suspects (koranic stipulation, fear of islamaphobia etc) have no basis in reality. Face covering is not required by islam, and is a political statement, and very often a deliberate disguise. (One of the 2005 London bombers wore a burqa, for this very purpose.)

John Vaschttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00335331585265267754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1537213245172078183.post-8407694991644497472018-08-09T22:59:47.673+01:002018-08-09T22:59:47.673+01:00Of course I won't, Gary C. It's about the future of the Conservative Party.

Is it to be the LibCon version, so beloved of Cameron, which is barely indistinguishable from Blair's Labour. Or is it to be a more robustly conservative version.

A majority of the Party Members want a real Brexit and a conservative PM; which is why the LibCons are so desperate to trash BoJo and keep his name off the ballot paper.

Whether they are prepared to lose a General Election (and probably more than one) in order to achieve their aims, remains to be seen.

DeeDee99https://www.blogger.com/profile/06753473473887381622noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1537213245172078183.post-53697057613525300952018-08-09T06:13:56.956+01:002018-08-09T06:13:56.956+01:00Martin Kettle thinks you are right, Mr R
