Congrats to whichever Boris fans have found and distributed this meme - it's a decent photo, the suit fits, the hair is combed. He looks ... different. Hmm.
As with President Trump, if you're waiting for the perfect man you'll be waiting forever. For now, Mr Johnson is probably the best we can hope for to replace the treasonous Mrs May.
Yes. he'll do nicely. JRM for Chancellor or Foreign Secretary and throw every single remoaner out of the cabinet. He can also instruct every local tory party to de-select any remoaners.
Some step up to a new job, some crash out. I don't see personal ambition being a problem if it is harnessed for the country's benefit. Plus a Breixt Prime Minister has some able potential Ministers to call upon.
He's probably the best (electable) candidate on offer.
Providing he's backed-up by detail people, with JRM as Chancellor and (dare I say it), Gove he'll do just fine. Better to have Gove in the tent than outside. He'll do a good job as Foreign Sec ..... out of the country a lot, so he can't plot.
DeeDee - agree re Gove. He'll never be popular and has a zero personality but is extremely capable - so good for a cabinet post that attracts vituperation, which will roll off his back. I thought Home Secretary, or Health or DWP.
He's also got 'whack-a-mole' qualities; let him have his head until he screws up to the extent that he has to be sacked, rest him on the back benches for six months then bring him back in another job. He's irrepressible, like a springer spaniel.
NOT AT ANY PRICE Why not? well, aprt from total lack of principle & being a serial liar ... A god view of his erm "casual" approach to governement & abuse of power is the affair of the GardenBridge, oh dear .... If you really want to learn more, google for "London Reconnections" & then search for Garden Bridge - it's unutterably depressing.

ReplyDeleteAgree. His time has come. He'll do.
ReplyDeleteI'll back him.
Not Mr Right, but Mr Right Now?

ReplyDeletePutting on a suit and combing your hair-those are the prerequisites for becoming PM of yUK, in that case I was qualified at approx age six.
ReplyDeletehas it really come to this?

Somewhat frightening that the betting for the next Labour Leader is a choice between Thornberry and Rayner. God help us...!
ReplyDeleteHe did well as the Mayor of London and people saw results. Yes, he'd make a good PM, we need a real change and he would provide it.

ReplyDeleteStill can't help thinking that any Tory leadership challenge may result in us having a Muslim PM....
The threat is there.
Dave G, if we have to then Priti not Javid please.
ReplyDeleteIt's why UKIP aren't able to raise a fist.
ReplyDeleteBoris as PM would wipe the floor with them, and probably get Farage on his side as well.
Great timing by Boris, still waiting in the wings to do the deed.
The man is a liar and a philanderer. No chance he will ever be PM. All the skeletons will come out of the cupboard

ReplyDeleteExcellent. They make the best politicians.
